Re: download data from internet

The Gambas Farm on Gambas. One is for viewing only. You need to start Gambas and select the Farm from the menu, note the 'Installed software' option, you may need it later: - 0.png Then select "All software" 2.png Then from the list select the software you want to download 3.png Note that the softwa...

Re: download data from internet

Hi westconn and welcome to the forum. There is the easy way to do this in Gambas using tools you probably already have installed on your system. The following example uses curl and wget to go and get your external IP address but one or both will need to be installed on your system. Public Sub Form_O...

Re: Portable Gambas Application (on USB)

I have had a think about this and whatever you do you will need to install the Gambas runtime code on the target computer and depending on what version of Gambas you are using will depend on which version you will need to install on the target machine. It seems to me that the best way would be to in...

Re: Portable Gambas Application (on USB)

Welcome to the forum This was fun! ;) I booted a live DVD of Lubuntu 17.10 from a Linux magazine DVD. I took a 16GB USB3 pen drive and following the instructions from here https://askubuntu.com/questions/450354/putting-a-full-installation-of-lubuntu-on-a-usb-drive installed Lubuntu on to the USB. Do...

Re: Gambas 3.11 is out

I have tried Gambas 3:11 on Ubuntu 18.04 but I needed to use the ppa. What I meant was that Gambas is not in the Ubuntu 18.04 repositories. It's not there at all! If you have a look here https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/allpackages?format=txt.gz you can search all packages. EDIT: - Gambas 3.11.1 i...

Re: Gambas 3.11 is out

This is good but I have discovered that Gambas, of any version, is NÒT included in the Ubuntu 18.04 repositories! I think this is very unfortunate as Ubuntu is the base for many other distros.

Re: Highlight next file in list after deletion

OK I missed the point, sorry.

I have had another go and spent some time, while cooking the evening meal, reducing the code. This is about as tight as I can make it.

Re: Highlight next file in list after deletion

Hi Steve, I tried my program again without issue, the next file is selected and the program closes without any errors. See here http://www.cogier.com/stevedee/stevedee-20180510-1.webm . I'm using Linux Mint 18.3 with the Cinnamon desktop and Gambas 3.10 Or did I miss the point due to being so old? :?

Re: Highlight next file in list after deletion

I think you can simplify some of your code by storing the list of files in a string sFileList = Dir(sFolder).Sort() Then highlight the first file in the string FileChooser1.SelectedPath = sFolder &/ sFileList[0] You can delete any file then you can repeat the same as above. This way there is no need...
