wireless-range

Here is another program that I wrote some time ago, and I've recently tidied up.

Its a wifi tool that I've found very useful over the years, which can be used to check the range & coverage of your home wireless router. It can help you find difficult areas, which you may be able to improve by moving your router. Sometimes you only need to move the router a short distance (maybe onto an adjacent shelf) to gain real benefits.

Works well but I think the Mb/s is a little generous. I am on "up to 40 Mb/s". fast.com shows 38Mb/s, your program has it at 65Mb/s.

Well, remember that the bit rate displayed is the rate between your router and your laptop/pc or whatever, not the speed of your ISP.

So in my illustration, I'm using the 5GHz band and getting a local network speed of around 390Mb/s, but my internet broadband is currently only 17Mb/s.

You should therefore be able to transfer files between computers on your local network up to 65Mb/s.
