gb.report2 basics and sqlite3

Post by 01McAc »

Sorry to bother you with all the questions but...
I try to get my head around with the gb.report2 component but I do not find any ideas how the report designer in Gambas may work. How can I create a header/footer, a section with repeatable rows and the sum in the footer? Is it completely different to the MS-Access report engine? The Gambas report designer looks quite empty with just a few properties which do not point me into the right direction. Once I understand the basics of the reports I would like to connect a sqlite DB to a report.
Dr. Google didn't give me an answer and the software farm seems to be out of order at the moment.

Yes I noticed and read the site carefully but to be honest I haven't got a clue how to start. This is just a description of properties, probably helpful if you know what you are doing. It's just like having list of ingredients, but no instruction how to cook the meal. I'm looking for the recipe, literally;)

There is an example on the Farm called LorumReport that may help.

Thanks. Yes, looks stunning. A lot of code to get the text and images in shape.
I guess it's not possible to set a gridview or tableview in the report to populate data out from a database.

I know but these are different components gb.report and gb.report2. The one you are referring to seems to be deprecated. gb.report2 is alive and complicated  compared to the rest of Gambas
