Gambas 3 for beginners

Post by theyikes »

Hey guys, back with another question. It's not code related, well sort of not. Can anyone suggest a good book I could buy to help me learn the basics of gambas 3.
I know there's the wiki site but that's not exactly what I'm looking for.

If at first you don't succeed , try doing something differently.

Hi, I registered here specifically to answer this question.
I'm still an absolute beginner with gambas myself, although I've been following the project for a long time. But I couldn't get to grips with the documentation.
My recommendation is definitely the Greek Gambas3 book: https://github.com/demosthenesk/the_gambas3_book
I wasn't put off by the language and the Greek letters and I'm currently on the last few pages.
The book is great. I recommend using a translation tool such as deepl.com or https://translate.disroot.org/
and in addition the excellent online wiki from Gambas, https://gambaswiki.org/wiki
I have translated the entire text of the book into German and refined the text with details from the online wiki.
In my opinion, this book explains the concept of Gambas very well and even things like class creation are well presented.
